I Got Vaccinated, and It Made Me Appreciate My Health
Gratitude is the most overtalked underrated topic
Hi friends,
Greetings from your internet friend.
Last week, I got vaccinated with covidshield. The vaccine got me to stay in bed for two days. The fever was terrible enough not to let me sit comfortably or be me. I was blessed I was home, and my mom was there to take care of me; I don’t know how I would have managed if I was still living alone in Bangalore.
This little episode made me wonder about how we take our bodies for granted. Our whole existence lies in our bodies. That’s all we've got. Else we don’t exist. Yet, we fail to take care of it. We ignore our health for everything else.
We can work because of our arms and foot, watch the beautiful sun and other beauty of nature from our eyes, and touch, play, feel, and do everything because of our health.
I know you must be wondering why she’s telling what we already know. Like I mentioned, gratitude is the most overtalked underrated topic.
So I am reminding you to be grateful for your body and make sure you’re getting enough workouts while you still work from home.
I am doing better now, and I have decided to be more mindful about what I eat and how much I exercise now that I am healthy.
Take care of what makes you you.
A lesson of the week
It would be best if you control your mind and not vice versa.
Currently reading
Erase and Rewind by Meghan Bell. It’s a series of short stories by an indie author from Canada about feminism and being a woman in today’s world.
Video of the week
If you don’t know already, I am a huge pizza fan. I stumbled upon this video of a woman from NYC who left her job in art direction and started baking gourmet pizza in her tiny apartment amidst the pandemic. She’s giving away the pizza free to people who left their jobs and are going through trying times. The message she writes on each pizza box made me all weepy :(
Quote of the Week
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.”
– Steve Jobs
Song of the Week
This instrumental piece kept me energized while I was resting. I love the beats.
Creation of the Week
I wrote a long article about how being single affects my creativity. This is a friend link; you can read it without Medium Membership. Read it here :)
I was just wondering if you like these shorts emails more than the longer ones. I try to keep it short because I know you have so much going on already. However, some topics require longer paragraphs and multiple stories, and I allow myself to finish a case irrespective of the length.
If you have any feedback, feel free to reply to this email.
You can also connect with me on LinkedIn and watch my videos on YouTube.
Until next week
Love and light
