Story of My Mom: Super Woman of My Life ❤️
Why she's keeping me sane, hopeful and will inspire you to do the same
Hi
This is a crazy time to be alive. And I won’t pretend like it not. I am not trying to scare you or bring you any form of toxic positivity. I want to be honest. I haven’t been myself for a few weeks. I can’t concentrate, and I can’t seem to find my balance.
It's getting harder with each passing day. But then, this is not the only time our existence has faced calamity like this. If I haven't told you before, today I share the story of my mother.
My mum survived Bhopal Gas Tragedy in 1984.
She survived the Hindu Muslim or Bombay riots in 1992
My father was in the army back in the days, and when we were living in Tezpur, Assam, she saw terrorists climbing through our balcony. My dad wasn't home, and she when she was alone with my sister in the early 2000s and me.
Our family broke down in 2011, and she raised my sister and me alone without any support from my father.
There were many such incidents when she thought she wouldn’t make it, but here she is, living her best life at 50.
See, this is where I get my perseverance and grit from.
I know it’s a difficult time. But, our parents, our grandparents, and our great grandparents have seen worse, and they’ve made it.
We can too!
The real fight is surviving the fear and the mental stress that we’re dealing with.
Mental health issues have been escalated during the last few weeks, and it's a brainer that the extra time we’ve got is killing our mental peace!
This is actually a test for you to control your negative thoughts and look beyond the current situation.
Please do your best to support people around you, be kind and listen to them. When we don’t know what to do, we can always help someone.
And that’s what I have been trying to do.
One Lesson I learned
One more lesson I learned over the last few months is about direction. You can go at 200mph. It won’t matter if you’re heading in the wrong direction.
Currently reading
I am re-reading my favorite novel Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I needed to remind myself of Howard Roark and his passion for his work.
Video of the week
I stumbled upon this video called The Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams on Youtube and loved every minute of it. The lecture was given by Randy Pausch, a professor from Carnegie Mellon who was dying from cancer and still living every minute. I would highly recommend it.

Creation of the Week
A lot of people ask me what to write about, and it makes me uncomfortable. I wrote about why it’s the worst question to ask as a writer. You can check it here.
I listed down 4 books that changed the way I think about money.
